Tapscott Learning Trust celebrates a year of success with glittering annual awards

Inaugural Tapscott achievement awards held at Here East in Olympic Park

The awards were hosted by the Trust to celebrate the achievement of its schools, pupils and communities

The Tapscott Learning Trust, which consists of Ranelagh Primary School in Stratford, Curwen Primary and Nursery School in Plaistow and Kensington Primary School in Manor Park, has held its first ever achievement awards celebrating the successes of pupils, staff and the school community.

The Tapscott achievement awards were held at Here East, in Olympic Park as a way to celebrate the progress and success of the schools and the Trust over the school year, as well as two other schools supported by the Trust, Rebecca Cheetham Nursery and Children’s Centre and North Beckton Primary School.

As well as highlighting the vital work and commitment taking place across all of the schools, the ceremony – sponsored by education platform Opogo – gave the Trust the opportunity to share its own success stories since being established just one year ago.

Award categories celebrated pupils, staff and parents’ successes across learning, sport and educational attainment as well as personal resilience, community support and volunteering.

“Our ethos is ‘working together, achieving for all’ and these awards were the perfect end to a very special year for the Tapscott Learning Trust,” said Paul Harris, CEO of the Tapscott Learning Trust.

“These awards celebrated everything the Trust embodies; helping our children becoming well rounded members of the community and encouraging them to strive for a brighter future. We’d like to congratulate everyone who was nominated as well as our inspiring winners on the night!

“At the core of our everyday life at Tapscott is the development of our children – and we hope these awards have helped to both encourage and celebrate the achievements of our pupils and of the schools as a whole.

“As a trust we have high expectations for everyone - from our team to our teachers to our children - and that is critical for our progression. It will help us build a strong family of schools who, individually, support their local communities, but share a common ethos of encouragement and support.”

The awards are set to become an annual fixture in the school calendar and are expected to increase in size year on year.

As well as celebrating the achievements of individuals, the event also offered parents, grandparents and guardians the opportunity to gain a greater insight into the work of the Tapscott Learning Trust, and offer the opportunity for them to become more actively involved in the range of opportunities the schools offer.

The Trust was named in memory of the late Angela Tapscott, the previous headmistress of Ranelagh Primary School. Angela’s family was in attendance, alongside two local councilors, Joy Laguda and Julianne Marriott.
