ECT Development Programme
After utilising other sub-standard service providers, we were finding that we were delivering more and more of our own NQT (now ECF) sessions, and therefore took the decision to offer our tailored approach to all NQTs across our academy. This programme is also open to other institutions who require an ECF programme that delivers what an ECF really needs! It involves sessions held at different schools giving ECFs the opportunity to explore different environments and access to sessions involving specialist teachers.
Here at TTLT we consider early career development incredibly important. Our trust works alongside the local Teaching School Hub – London District East, to provide our early career teachers (ECTs) access to the Ambition ECF programme. Our trust provides additional support to all ECTs and mentors through our dedicated early careers team and our Fellow member of Ambition delivers mentor and induction tutor training wider afield across our borough. We believe in supporting ECTs in the early stages of their career and each school receives 1 day of support from our trust in working with on the ground with ECTs in developing their teaching and learning practice. The new ECF area is a huge national change in the landscape of teacher development. The Training Hub can help advise and coordinate with you to ensure you are best positioned in delivering the support and programme for your ECTs. Do get in touch if you need any support.
Also check out our new 'Further Development of Teaching and Learning' programme which is aimed at those in the second or third year of teaching which aims to strengthen the ECF and continue developing skills in building excellent teachers.
In preparation for next year we have produced a mini-series to help all NQTs (now ECFs) prepare for their new position in September. Our Training Hub Director and ECF Lead have put together some videos in which they explore areas you can work on now in order to start the new academic year feeling confident and ready for the challenges ahead. Videos will be added until the end of term and into summer so stay tuned and get subscribed to the channel. The links to the videos are below:
