North Beckton’s £10,000 Cycling Grant

If you visit North Beckton Primary School, you will be sure to find the playground full of children on bikes. You will find them carefully negotiating circuits, concentrating on their balance and considering rules of bike safety. Getting children cycling is a great way to improve children’s fitness and coordination, as well as teaching children about the huge environmental benefits of cycling.

In order to develop this commitment to cycling, the school recently applied for a £10, 000 grant from the Mayor of London - and we are delighted to report that they were successful!

The school will use the  Mayor’s £10,000 grant to continue their outstanding work on developing cycling skills and enjoyment through the continuation of their weekly cycling PE lessons and after school cycling clubs, as well as investing additional funds into the purchase of new adapted bicycles, which will support bicycle access to children with a range of SEND needs.
