EAL Development
Managing the smooth admission for children with EAL and establishing effective EAL provision is key priority in our MAT. Within TTLT, this area is lead by Soofia Amin who has previously been an ESOL lecturer, has worked in Adult Education and is currently an Assistant Head Teacher at Kensington Primary. Alongside this, she is an SLE for the borough and works very closely with the EAL Academy to develop the practice of leaders and teachers across the South East. Her role includes developing school's understanding of the mid-phase process; ensuring provision for EAL pupils is effective; and enabling all pupils with EAL to make good to outstanding progress. She also actively promotes the importance of ensuring parents have the support needed at school to help their children with their education; this is provided through maths, literacy and parenting courses.
TTLT offer a range of services to support schools in delivering excellent EAL/Multilingualism provision. Do contact us if you would like to discuss and options listed below.
